We have been pursuing its material value and re-created world-class Buddha statues which are designated as a National Treasure or an Important Cultural Asset. Asura is a god known as a statue of Asura in Kohfuku-ji temple, is believed to be a fierce god who fated to battle day in and day out, in an ancient Indian myth. His slender androgynous body including three faces and six thin arms and his features are innocent like a boy.
A Deva king was a god of Shukongoshin which used to be one figure, is believed to made his alter ego in China and became two figures, called "Nioh". Agyo and Ungyo, known as an etymology of famous words "Aun no Kokyu"(on the same wavelength), is located in right and left of temple's main gate to protect Buddhism and prevent invasion of enemies.
Four heavenly kings protect Shumisen which is located in the center of Buddhism world from four directions. It is thought to brought into Japan around the same time of Buddhism introducing. Statue of Four heavenly kings, sculptured by Prince Shotoku who religiously believed in Buddhism, to pray for a victory when he battled with Mononobe clan, was enshrined in Osaka Shitennoji.
Kisshoten, a goddess of bringing abundant gifts and economic fortune, is known as a statue of Joruri-ji temple in Kyoto, was introduced to Buddhism by Lakshmi who is a goddess of an Indian myth. Appearance of an houri, her plump cheeks and long-slitted eyes attract many people's eyes.
